Have you ever been to Mapua, Nelson? If you have been to Nelson, or are going to Nelson, than you should check out Mapua. Mapua is a really cool place to live if you like to live in a place that is just off a main city. As you have probably guessed, I am going to be telling you about Mapua, seeing as I have lived there for three months.
The first thing that you should know about Mapua, is the activities that you can do there. There are so many activities that you can do there just in town, but you can also go into Richmond for going to the gym, swimming, and heaps of other things. In town you can go to the tennis courts, and play tennis, you can go to the skate park - although that is not a sport - and hang out with your friends, skate, scooter, or ride your BMX bike.
The second thing that you should know about Mapua is that there is an amazing school, and yes you guessed it is called Mapua School. If you decide to move to Mapua, you should definitely go to Mapua School if you are a Year 0 - Year 8. It is a primary school, but it also has - in a different syndicate, the Year 7 & 8's. Another thing about Mapua School, is that each two year group has a different syndicate. The youngest kids have their syndicate name as Juniors, then the Middles, thirdly the Seniors, and lastly the Intermediates.
The third thing that you should know about Mapua is what there is to do over the weekends. There are lots of things that you can do on the weekend. For example, you could go to a market. There are markets on both Saturday, and Sunday. On Saturday there is the Nelson Arts Market, and on Saturday there is the Motueka Farmers Market. Those are just a couple of things that you can do on the weekends, beside the other things that you can do for your activities.
Those are only some of the things that you can do in Mapua. Now I will be telling you about what thing I did in Mapua. The things that I did when I was in Mapua, was I went to Mapua school Monday to Friday, went swimming at the Richmond Aquatic Center on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. I also went to the Saturday and Sunday Markets. I loved going to the skate park and hanging out with my friends and skating and scootering, as well. I also made some unforgettable memories with my friends and with what we did in Mapua.
I really enjoyed living in Mapua for those three months, I think that it was the perfect amount of time to spend there, and I hope that you, whoever is reading this, will some day visit Mapua, and see all of the wonderful things for them selves.
